1. Who is responsible
This website, bokaguide.me, is run by BOKA Guide (Andrija), an independent local guide and trip organiser based in the Bay of Kotor, Montenegro. For anything related to your personal data, write to info@bokaguide.me or call +382 69 901 376.
2. What data is collected
- Enquiries. When you use the enquiry form you send your name, email, optionally a phone/WhatsApp number, the service you’re interested in, dates, group size and your message.
- Messages. If you contact me by email, phone or WhatsApp, I receive the details you choose to share there.
- Trip assistant. Questions you type into the on-site assistant are used to answer you. Please don’t enter sensitive personal information there.
- Technical data. Like every website, the hosting provider processes your IP address and basic request data (browser, time, page) to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Usage statistics — only if you accept analytics (see section 5).
I don’t ask for payment card details on this website and I don’t buy or sell personal data.
3. Why it’s used
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare options and prices — steps taken at your request before a booking.
- To arrange and confirm the services you book and stay in touch during your trip — performance of the agreement.
- To keep the site secure and working, and to block spam — legitimate interest.
- To understand which pages are useful, in aggregate — only with your consent.
4. Who it’s shared with
Only what is needed, only with:
- Local service providers — the boat operator, rental agency or driver who will actually provide your booking receives the details needed to do so (for example your name, date, pickup point and group size).
- Vercel Inc. — website hosting, the enquiry form endpoint and (with consent) cookieless page statistics.
- Email and form delivery — enquiries are delivered by a form-delivery service to an inbox hosted by Google (Gmail).
- AI provider — if the assistant’s AI mode is active, your question is sent to Anthropic to generate an answer. It is not used to identify you.
- WhatsApp (Meta) — only if you choose to message on WhatsApp.
Some of these providers are located outside Montenegro and the EU (for example in the United States). They are used under their standard data-protection terms.
5. Cookies & analytics
The site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It stores a few small items in your browser’s local storage to work properly:
boka-consent— remembers your choice in the cookie banner;boka-chat…andboka-plan— keep your assistant conversation and trip plan during your visit (session storage, cleared when you close the tab).
If you click Accept in the banner, privacy-friendly Vercel Web Analytics is switched on. It counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. You can change your choice at any time with (also in the footer).
6. How long it’s kept
Enquiry emails and messages are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless a longer period is required by law (for example for accounting records of a booking). Analytics are kept only as aggregated statistics. Hosting logs are kept for a short period by the hosting provider.
7. Your rights
Under Montenegro’s Law on Personal Data Protection and, for visitors from the EU, the GDPR, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict its use, ask for a copy of it, and withdraw consent at any time. Just email info@bokaguide.me — I’ll reply within 30 days.
You can also complain to Montenegro’s Agency for Personal Data Protection and Free Access to Information, or to the data-protection authority in your country.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date at the top.
